Problem is, I no longer have my custom resolution in CS:GO. I brought it down slowly until I stopped getting the error which was 75hz. I tried 80hz, but I got that same error message as you. I used EVGA's Precision X Pixel Clocking feature. I have a Samsung S27C750P and it's stock at 60hz, and I'm trying to get it as high as I can as I play CS:GO competitively. Then I added that refresh rate and timings to CRU. So that is what I did to test timings and refresh rate, after I had 77hz running at the highest timings I could which took several tries and the control panel told me it wasn't stable several times. Games wouldn't recognize them until I modified the EDID but my monitor would run at those resolutions. I can't guarantee this step will work for you, but I found that without setting a custom resolution with the custom resolution utility that I was able to use higher refresh rates with using the Nvidia control panel alone. In custom resolution utility, it will tell you how much bandwidth each custom resolution will use, my timings and resolution are taking up 188mb/s so single link dvi couldn't run it, just keep that in mind depending on what cable you are using.

So since you already know how to setup a custom resolution you can follow the steps again and use higher timings, or a higher refresh rate.

Now that you did that, I am not exactly sure what timings do but I am pretty sure it affects response time. Of course if it is running at 75 frames with vsync and no screen tearing it should mean you are getting that refresh rate. Some games I found I either have to alt tab out and then back in, or set vsync to off and then back on for it to run at 75hz. If it is launch a game with vsync and see if runs at 75 frames (using fraps or another fps monitoring tool). Give it a moment and it will show your refresh rate which should be 75. Double click the camera, it should have a small window next to the camera that says wait. In the new window that it just popped up or should have There will be a section that says refresh rate with a camera. However over display profiles and a submenu will pop up go to configure. Click it while it is in the tray and a menu will popup. Once you launch it it should show up in your system tray on your taskbar. It says it needs to restart your computer I didn't restart and it worked fine for me.

With AMD I don't know how to set a custom resolution if you don't either I can try and find out how for you but I can't guarantee anything.Īfter that download powerstrip ( ), and install it. Once it is saved you are going to have to select the custom resolution you just made, and set it to 75hz. Then hit test at the bottom if it works just fine save it, if not you can try to lower the timings or refresh rate to find the max refresh rate your monitor can do.

Set the timings to manual and change them to the same timings custom resolution utility setup, and then of course change the refresh rate to 75hz, and the resolution to 1920x1080. After that setup a custom resolution with the same timings in Nvidia control panel you go to change resolution and customize. For games to recognize it make sure it is at the top of the detailed resolutions. Now you want to create a detailed resolution with 75hz (that's a good place to start) and then enter your resolution then hit auto best for LCD and save. I will explain the steps I used, if there is anything I didn't explain well enough say so and I can add screenshots for that particular part. Below is a link to the program it is supposed to make editing the EDID as easy as possible.
